Learn how to make effective progressive changes in your daily routines to improve your overall health, improve your posture, learn how to prevent the accumulation of stress and learn techniques and tools to manage the effects of interpreting.

Learn how to integrate healthy daily practices to relieve pain and prevent pain associated with interpreting, evaluate your current state and integrate healthier practices to reduce stress and physical pain associated with interpreting.

Learn how the nervous system is a key player in managing stress and learn an easy pose to let go, relax and halt the accumulative effect of stress and the major key to rehabilitating the accumulative stress and/or injury associated with interpreting.

Learn a daily routine of yoga designed to help maintain healthy shoulders, wrists, arms and back and how to adapt the poses for your individual conditions or injuries.

Wink will bring his experiences as a CODA, a professional interpreter for nearly 20 years, and as a doctoral student in the PhD program at Gallaudet’s Linguistics department.

He will provide a glimpse into how linguists and researchers in general think about and approach problems in varying fields.

Specifically those issues in the interpreting field that can be illuminated by what we know from the linguistics field and how these foundations can be applied to interpreting to define what an interpreter actually does and how to measure it.
